Also, what's your solution? We can't all do our own research on every single topic out there.
For some topics it's possible to do your own research, such as tech news.
But others, such as wars, it's much harder. I guess if you know people who live near the event, you could ask them about it. But they probably have enough on their plate just surviving to talk to outsiders about it.
