What these people fail to realise is that feature phones aren’t very private either. With any phone your location is tracked at all times and calls and texts are in the clear.
If this is going to be a thing, mobile networks should be built for privacy and there should be feature phones that support end-to-end encryption. The Punkt MP02 is the only device I’ve heard of that fits the latter requirement, but it’s limited to Signal.
