@PNS This makes some sense.
A non-negligible portion of the people who didn't get vaccinated did not do so for ideological reasons - they simply neglected to do so. People who are on the lam are also going to see no reason to get vaccinated.
Such people are more likely to get in traffic accidents simply due to the types of people they are. Since that population gets mixed in with the people who avoided the vaxx for ideological reasons...you get this result.
It's functionally the same reasoning that applies to the fact that - on average - women have a slight preference for men who take large shits. The population of normal women distribute normally, and a very small number of coprophiles insist on men taking large shits.

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @PNS CMD, this post is written very objectively and dispassionately, yet all I can think of while reading it is cinnamon sticks rattling down the walls of an apartment building
@PNS
Save me covid vaccine, I don't want to get into an accident today.
Save me covid vaccine, I don't want to get into an accident today.
Not that there isn't some logic to that, but I think the effect size would be tiny compared to:
People who spent 2 years hiding in their basement, doordashing all their meals, and only venturing out every few months to get boosted didn't get in many traffic accidents during that time.
Couldn't it just be that people who didn't get vaccinated are more likely to own personal vehicles and drive more on average? I mean... they didn't even account for whether the people in the pool actually drove or actually had a license. They just included everyone who was "eligible for a driver's license."
I'm just thinking that personal vehicles ownership is a big ideal amongst the right, while many on the left, many of whom live in cities, use public transport or walk.
The anti-vaxx crowd is largely right.
Thus, there's likely some skewed relationship between driving a private vehicle and being unvaxxed that wasn't controlled for.

@Humpleupagus @PNS This is also possible, but would violate common sense a little. Someone who has a driver's license and a car is more likely to be able to go to the place with the vaccine. Someone who doesn't is more likely to give up due to the difficulty of travel.
It's probably the same as the vegetarian/vegan vs meat eating lifespan studies are all shit. A housecat lives longer but not because it's healthier
Killing shit and not giving a fuck adds years to your life. I'm going to live to be 120. Suck it, hookers!
@Humpleupagus @MCMLXVIIOTG @PNS I decided to go look up the vaccination rate in one of the most accident-prone metropolitan areas, and I'm forced to retract both my first explanation and my intuition. You're right.
COVID vaccination rate in the US broadly is 70%. In Dallas County, it's 62%. The 8% difference is huge, and the degree to which the people there get in accidents is enough to explain the study's results even if this was Dallas alone.

@Humpleupagus @MCMLXVIIOTG @PNS Even if what I said is a factor, it is not going to be as large a factor as "an 8% gap in COVID vaccination rates in the metropolitan area famous for having the worst drivers in the US."
Look at this table, they're literally just taking two numbers and dividing one by the other. They don't even engage in any regressive analysis. This study is shit.
If you want what keeps you alive go ask people in a nursing home who show off how many doctors died telling them that doing X was bad
It's really strange that at measure health by life span and not purpose.
The average sumo wrestler dies before 40. They're also perfectly healthy for the purpose of being a sumo wrestler.
This is how we should view health.

@Humpleupagus @MCMLXVIIOTG @PNS I agree that they should've controlled for obvious confounding variables. At this point it's just propaganda, and we can pick apart what happened by controlling for them.
Yeah. I don't know the answer. That requires a real study. This is just "anti-vaxx are evil law breakers" propaganda. They didn't even account for whether the accidents were caused by driving violations. They just theorize that anti-vaxx people are bad.
Agree. And they were playing games with the vaccinated status back then. So many people that had been jabbed didn't count as fully vaccinated until Day 14. Got moved into the unvaccinated column.
And we've all seen how well maintained cars from the 'hood are

@Humpleupagus @Dudebro @ceo_of_monoeye_dating @MCMLXVIIOTG @PNS I said those exact words yesterday after I pulled that brisket off the smoker...
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @Humpleupagus @PNS I think places for that are too common for that to be a factor. At least in Australia they are, but we also have slightly better public transport
Yall make me want to die right now. I'm cutting this week to see if I can lose some of my last fat and an craving the shit out of cinnamon rolls like I'm pregnant or something
@Dudebro @ceo_of_monoeye_dating @Humpleupagus @MCMLXVIIOTG @PNS Do carnivore for a month..cravings for sweets go away...meat and healthy fats like tallow and real butter...and drink lots of water with electrolites (salty)...
I've done it before. I just did the mistake of going to the county fair and eating whatever and now they are back.
Try berberine. Take one with each meal. You'll feel kinda head high the first few days, but it goes away. So do food / sugar cravings and weight.
This is a fair article about berberine. It works for me. I lost 10lbs in two weeks when I first started taking it, and I'm not even fat. It was the baby fat layer I've just always had. Now I can see my abs.

Are you sure you're pro-white? You've constantly been suggesting people do things that result in dead white people.

Not really, you are just delusional about your cock and you think it can kill girls.
Meanwhile I know this cute baby needs some pets.

@Thickasabrick @ceo_of_monoeye_dating @Humpleupagus @Dudebro @MCMLXVIIOTG @PNS I notice that my teeth have stopped getting cavities since I went carnivore, despite my never brushing them. So though that's the only thing I can notice about the diet that's reason enough for me to stay on it.
@Humpleupagus @Dudebro @MCMLXVIIOTG @PNS @Thickasabrick Shit man, I have a huge pile of fat to lose. Might look at this.
Like I said, you will feel head high for the first few days. I'm my sure why, but it feels like an acetylcholine high to me. I wonder of it's also a cholinergic.
I remember why I feel like extra shit. I was on really bad mood stabilizers and anti depressants years ago. I haven't been this thin since 2007 and it probably was stored in that fat. I went through this a few years back when I originally lost what weight the stabilizers gave me.
@PNS I mean, it does supposedly cause mental deficiencies ("brain fog"). So if you're the driver maybe it could cause a car accident, or be a contributing factor to one.
