of the jobs I applied to in february, 40% sent rejections and 60% did not respond

better than usual, normally maybe 20% bother to send rejections

I get why it happens:

Human resources are not given an incentive to respond to rejected applicants.

That doesn't mean it shouldn't happen.

@threalist some companies have a jobs portal where they'll update your status (rejected) without sending an email if you log back in to see it

I don't apply to companies like that a second time

@deprecated_ii no, but seriously tho you need to spend most of your week working on some shit to impress one single hiring manager!

@Bill_Boone I doubt anyone has ever looked at my personal projects, ever

I should put a hit counter on my portfolio site just for lulz

@deprecated_ii my banner image only gets more and more relevant

@deprecated_ii Pretty sure big companies are behaving irrationally.

Many of them seem to be contracting staff sizes, even though their consumer base is growing. (and it is causing obvious quality drops)

I suspect this is being done to solidify ideological alignments.

That is to say, the job market meritocracy is dead, every where excel small businesses.

@hazlin @deprecated_ii it's true
their new thing is to integrate DEI into every part of the business so the cancer can't be excised by firing the DEI managers, with the ultimate goal of influencing customer behavior
look for kirsche's bridge streams to learn more

@skylar @deprecated_ii @hazlin >good point
>therefore you should watch vtuber

speaking of cancers that can't be excised

@sapphire @deprecated_ii @hazlin the fox woman is educational
