Trying to get political power isn't a form of liberty IMO.
Saying "I should have political power" is freedom of speech, but actually putting yourself on the ballot is not.

Also, being able to democratically campaign is not what I think of as liberty.

How do you know?

@condret @mangeurdenuage How broad is your definition?

@condret They have estopped themselves, as Hans-Hermann Hoppe would say

@lain @piggo my point is that it's like saying it doesn't matter if one single person, for instance, doesn't put their litter in the bin. If everyone did that, it would matter.

@lain @piggo votes in aggregate matter though. If everyone who would vote for a certain party suddenly decided not to, that would definitely be consequential

@Amikke @lain @piggo exactly. Even if it doesn't matter that much, it's proportionately easy to do it, so you might as well

@sun @raccoon If the protocol is federated, you could also do it in that way as far as I can see.

@sun Still working on your "decentralised metaverse"?

@sun @raccoon If it's a centralized website, why can't you just do it in a centralized way though?

@why @lain @piggo You have to let the dead vote. Otherwise you'll just kill people you disagree with!

@strypey Throughout the books, this sort of thing is presented as normal and necessary.
Idk. I'm basically going based off of vibes here. But I think that's okay when it comes to fiction.
