So the reason why I think this, is because there are already so many reddit alternatives that people won't join. There's options already, but I'm starting to think people are very picky about what they want in an alternative.
I'll use myself as an example. For me, my deal breaker is if there isn't a downvote feature. They're are so many options that only have a like button and I just can't stand that shit. Also, if there is no app it's a no go.
Continuing, my point is that if there were an alternative where you could say whatever you want, troll, talk shit, or express opposition. People won't join because they actually like the censorship.
There's more people now who are being raised with the censorship we have now, and never experienced the internet the way it was before. And when they do (like they experience someone trolling or being mean to them) they won't use the site anymore.

yea I know it's weird you'll get banned immediately on reddit for that. it kinda kills the experience for me not being able to talk shit on there
permanent ban from the site. like if you say something like being trans is wrong or troll people or call them names
aw I see you're right. the thing for me though is I don't want to follow people. I want to engage in discussions, answer questions, and join forums and communities. I'm not interested in what someone thinks of that makes sense? like I don't care that your feel a certain way about blah blah blah shut the fuck up already. I want to answer questions and engage in topics have fun you know. that's why I troll but I can only do that on Nostr

wow that's extreme. I was baptized catholic then was a Christian now agnostic. I do belive in God but I don't go to church and stuff. not saying you can't be on the internet but if you're religious why are you on fedi?
