@obihahn The worst part won't be the actual inflation, it's when interest rates reset. you'll have people who can barely afford their debts at the lowest interest rates ever who will then need to pay interest rates their grandparents would think are normal.
@saxnot I have an Indian living with me, and he regularly points out something on the other end of the spectrum: a dollar isn't a dollar isn't a dollar. If he buys something in the west, he's sometimes paying 2, 5, 10, 50 times as much as he's used to paying for the exact same thing.

I don't agree with @pluralistic on some big items, but I respect his writing and there's some things we're both in agreement on. Same as a lot of people on fediverse. I want people around who challenge my worldview a bit, I don't want to live in an echo chamber.
