@kazcynski_stan @coolboymew they're gonna blame "white" people fo controlling the banks and the media for the purpose of guilting people, make them own it when it's inconvenient for them too.
@borzoi tfw we gave women the vote
@disclosetv tfw you're taking a selfie next to the suicide pod that looks like it's going to help you escape your dying planet to find a planet with a different colored sun so you can become a superhero.
@wjmaggos @deathpanels in The Graysonian Ethic, I wrote about the oxygen catastrophe mass extinction event. It was the worst extinction event ever because the fundamental way to exist fundamentally changed. The atmosphere went from being primarily CO2 to being primarily N2 and O2. I use it as an example of how the dichotomy was false. Before the catastrophe, surviving primarily on O2 was going to be a method for extinction, but afterwards not being able to tolerate O2 is a recipe for extinction. The best solution was to find a way to either survive using carbon dioxide and tolerate oxygen or to tolerate carbon dioxide and survive using relatively small amounts of oxygen. Meanwhile, most of the things that life had to do didn't change at all. Life was still made up of DNA and amino acids. Life still gathered energy either from the Sun or from other life that had consumed energy from the Sun. All kinds of things stayed the same.
The point of the story is just what you're saying, to illustrate that we need a little bit of both. We need to keep the things that are already correct and just try to tweak the things that aren't quite correct. That doesn't mean taking bad ideas and making the disappear, it just means recognizing that those ideas are no longer relevant. If we forget the bad ideas completely then we will forget why they were bad ideas later on.
This last point is actually really important, I've seen it before. In the workplace, and idea might sound very good on paper and so they will go implement it. For reasons that they didn't see it will fail catastrophically. If nobody bothers to record the fact that they did try and they did fail and the reasons that they failed then they'll go back and revisit that same bad idea again and again and again and fail again and again and again.

@mystik @RexRedbone @Viking And you'll notice that when it comes time to collect child support, the argument gets flipped and suddenly it's all about "the good of the child". Funny, 1 week prior it wasn't about the good of the child -- you were saying we should murder the child because it's inconvenient for you. It only becomes that when suddenly it's time for the mother to collect a cheque.
@mystik @RexRedbone @Viking Indeed, you take an action that brings a life into existence solely to feel good and that existence has no say in coming to exist, then murder them because the existence you created is not convenient for you.
The insane thing is when you think about the common "only religious people have a problem with this" statement. If you need Jesus to tell you that the first sentence I wrote above is morally reprehensible, then you *really* need Jesus, but most people don't.

@coolboymew Show by white pot smoking frat bro hated by white people, white supremacy somehow to blame
@wjmaggos @deathpanels One thing I've come to realize watching the lotus eaters podcast is that the right has an extraordinary body of intellectual work.
As the left works to disavow the collective works of humanity because they think they know better than all of humanity's thinkers right until this moment, conservatives should work to conserve, protect, and utilize those same works as the unimaginable inheritance they are. Just as the Christians of the dark ages burned the heretical works of the greeks and romans but those same works were collected and commented upon by Arab scholars, and the dark age only ended when the works of ancient wisdom were able to return and progress was able to continue.

Justin Trudeau has said that Canada has no culture.
This is why he's a drama teacher and nothing useful to society.
Over the course of creating The Graysonian Ethic, I ended up going through the teachings I went through, and you realize the history that goes into every person. The legacy we inherited from Europe. The history of the nation itself. The history of our bloodlines. The idea that there's no culture here is the sort of tripe you could only dream up if you were jetsetting around the world with your billionaire buddies instead of actually living in the country you hoped to lead someday.
Let's be real here, however: his idea that Canada is "post-national" is a façade. It's a veneer he's wrapped his true purpose in to hide his true intentions: He intends to sell your children into slavery to help his billionaire friends.
He does it again and again and again, and every time he's caught he goes "Oh, I just plum didn't know! Aw shucks!" but how may times does it need to happen until we realize the truth?
He wants us to think that Canada is a "post-national society". Everyone should hope not! You can't be a post-national society in a world made up of nations. Let's look at some of the nations we're supposed to ignore for his glorious "post-national society".
Let's start with the left's glorious shining red star upon the hill, Communist China. Head over there and become a citizen. Oh -- you can't. There is no naturalization process in Communist China, you're always a laowhy, an outsider. I hope you're not African in Communist China, because that automatically flags you for routine visits from the police. Go ahead and enjoy all your LGBT rights in Communist China -- rights that lag Canada by 30 years. More than 30 years if you're looking at the fact that even "effeminate men" are not allowed by the CCP to be shown on television. Pray to the God you'd better not let anyone in the state know you believe in that you aren't a part of the Uigur minority, lest you be sent to the actual honest to god ethnic concentration camps. If only they shared the culture Canada has which holds individual rights and freedoms as sacrosanct!
How about the middle east -- the left loves the middle east, they want everyone living there to come join us! Many of those countries also lack a naturalization process, there is no concept of "separation of church and state" that is part of western cultures, and go ahead -- tell them about how you're LGBT. I hope you enjoy your trip off the tallest building in town to the pavement below. I sure hope you don't enjoy beer or weed, because whereas our culture is tolerant of such things, those will get you thrown in jail.
Even compared to Europe, you can't say Canada is the same just because much of our culture is derived from theirs. For one, we've inherited the love of freedom from our neighbor, making us one of the few countries on earth with a constitution that explicitly protects certain rights and freedoms. In addition, we have inherited many traditions from our native partners. While the relationship has been tumultuous at times, it's unique in the world for how successfully "us" and "them" became "us" and "also us" without the open warfare we saw in the history of the US, and even to this very second Canada builds its own culture and guides its own path. Just look at the fediverse -- the Canadian presence on the fediverse is absolutely outsized compared to the size of its population in the English speaking world. It speaks to a uniquely individualist culture that says "I can change the world myself with my own two hands, I don't need to ask permission or get patronage from some higher power".
People like Justin Trudeau want to pretend we have no culture so they can graft Southern California culture onto us so they can get butt pats from their loser celebrity friends. You can see it in all the stupid Southern California causes that he's gotten Canada into. You can see it in all the stupid Southern California tactics he employs. You can see it in all the Sothern California policies he's chasing. Frankly, that would be regressive. We're better than Southern California, we don't need to get acclaim from somewhere that is inferior to us. They just have big American egos that tell them they're the best and everyone else needs to kneel, and like an idiot who doesn't know what it means to be Canadian, he's falling for it.
What an embarrassment. The only thing that's hopeful is that Canadians tend to turn hard when they do turn. Ask the Liberals in Ontario (who are no longer an official provincial party because they got pantsed so bad) When the electorate decides they're fed up with this garbage, expect a blue and purple wave across the country that could send the liberals and the NDP back to the stone age, and they'll have to do some soul searching and realize that if they want to win elections for long you have to know Canadians, and stop trying to be Californian.

@argo You're right, and that's why I've said recently "The day of the ant and the grasshopper is coming". One of our superpowers as human beings is predicting the future. Other creatures don't have anything like our ability to do this one thing. The better we do it, the earlier and the more accurately, the better off we'll be.
@argo People aren't actually dumb. They're just slow as a group. Over time people do realize the truth, and the longer the establishment pushes a narrative without truth behind it, the more catastrophic the turn becomes.

@TechNews In my view, once debt rates start to rise, the everything bubble ends and the chase into certain equities will end almost immediately because there will be other places the rich can put their money to beat inflation.

@TurdFerguson Narrator: It didn't work like that at all.
@coolboymew She'd look even better if she had teeth!
You can start moving away from big tech. It's entirely possible and it means they have less and less power over you. Think about what you can do to do so today!
