Advocate for freedom and tolerance even if you say things I do not like

Adversary of Fediblock

Accept that I'll probably say something you don't like and I'll give you the same benefit, and maybe we can find some truth about the world.

Ah... Is the Alliteration clever or stupid? Don't answer that, I sort of know the answer already...

You lay with the enemy, prepare to be stabbed in your sleep.

Incredible watching all these people using massive amounts of energy to protest energy.

I mean, the only other option is to die in prison, so I guess so.

tfw people don't just increase the character count on their instance...

Thanks for reminding us that we have nothing now.

tbf, doesn't really affect the men.

"Oh no, I gotta shower with a biological woman. whatever will I do. My dainty sensibilities shall surely be tainted."

I posted entire chapters of my book when I was writing it for feedback. I even got some now and again.

Completely randomly, the timcast rss feed is mostly just links to his videos, but occasionally has really good written journalism. It was a reminder of how badly written most media is these days.

Resolute Forestry Products, known previously as Abitibi Price before they changed their name and were known for being dodgy af, has been sold to a privately held company headquartered in B.C. called The Paper Excellence Group.

It appears that as recently as November 2021, The Paper Excellence Group was headquartered in California, so they must've decided that California wasn't quite expensive enough so they should move their operations to the only place on earth more expensive.

The Paper Excellence group previously purchased Canada's Domtar company, and resolute will continue as a wholly owned subsidiary of Domtar. They also own Catalyst, another Canadian company.

Nothing new -- the governments and corporations around the world pretending they can stop using energy without causing global suffering.

They're getting what they want but acting shocked that the natural consequences of their policies occurred.

The thing I find annoying is that they wanted this and now it's happening and they're pretending they are shocked.

Why is there a carbon tax? To make energy more expensive. They wanted this. Why are they pointing fingers now that they got what they wanted?

I mean... Not really... There was no constitutional basis for the judgement in Roe. If there was a basis, then the government would have a lot less power over people. If such a thing as "a right to medical privacy existed" that could prevent a certain procedure from being banned, then the FDA wouldn't be allowed to exist. Arguably, medical licensure shouldn't be allowed. Drug laws probably wouldn't be allowed.

What they tried to do was create an alleged constitutional right that began and ended at exactly one issue. In the past 2 years, that came to a head, because everyone saw the emperor had no clothes: There was a constitutional "right to medical privacy" but you better carry your papers because the government can mandate that you have to prove which medical procedures you've had done.

Now... Imagine if the case actually did establish a universal constitutional right, and one that protected against stuff like vaxx mandates. Well, in that case it isn't so easy to overturn. They couldn't have that. They want to micromanage your life.

The two are close enough that it's easy to forget for me. It isn't like the past where the two were so fundamentally different that there's no way to forget your cde wasn't windows 95!

I've got openshell or something like it on my windows installs and I decrapify it and use o&o shutup10 to get rid of a bunch of junk, then on my linux machines I run kubuntu, so they're pretty similar in normal use.

If you're not gaming, it's really easy to forget which OS you're even using if you've got your various OSes set up reasonably well.

It's the gubbmint coming to demand taxes from the poor fox man!

Hate crimes aren't hate crimes when they do it!

(Actually, they are)

Gigablast crashes a lot. I'd take it off the list, but it's one of the only non big tech search engines out there, so I keep it there and deal with the error messages. The other engines it looks at still provide results.

I believe the current situation is complicated and multipolar. I consider people with gender dysphoria to be "real trans", and a lot of people simply aren't that.

I wouldn't care since people should be able to live however they please and I'm certainly not perfect enough to say that they're wrong, except that "the community", a bunch of psycho authoritarians who want to use the power of the state to force me to care under the barrel of a gun.

I've been lamenting the LGBT folks who as always just want to be left alone. They are caught in the crossfire, and there's no way they'll come out the other side of this insanity as good as things were 10 years ago.

That's reasonable, given that I don't know much about Page other than a few movie roles, so I don't know what their political opinions are.

If you assume that a trans person just has gender dysphoria, then such a person could have all kinds of opinions.

The only thing I get a kick out of is the idea that Page would get to understand that it isn't all sunshine and rainbows and people running up to you to give you opportunities when you're passing as a man.
