Epic cope. I don't know why they don't just go back to Facebook and Twitter where their masters will silence any dissent for them.
Yes, even Twitter even now.

It seems to me that there's actually a point of diminishing returns when it comes to bandwidth. For most end-users, they might never even notice the difference between 50mbps and 500mbps and 5,000mbps. Especially since most websites don't serve that fast to individual users.
I think there is an argument to be made for opposing russia, but it also seems very clear to me that the West thought that they could just bully Russia into submission on the tail of bullying the entire world into submission during covid. It was a decadent plan divorced from reality. A massive and resource-rich country ready to go to shooting war is not the same as a bunch of truckers peacefully protesting government policy.
Krypon fusion paint is great for stuff like that. You need a tech who is good enough to take the machine apart so you can spray the parts without the parts getting covered, but it has a great finish on plastics. I've used it on both laptops and desktops, and been really happy with the results.
Lots of people have lots of plans, but only a few of those people actually make those plans happen. History is made by the latter group, no matter how much better the plans of the former.
So they refuse to prosecute people who actually steal things every single day from brick and mortar stores, but they'll pass an impotent law like this to "do something"
Just an embarrassment. Imagine being a US lawmaker and actually backing this.

You have to remember that when the media and the state work to make people terrified of something that isn't dangerous to most individuals, a lot of people end up terrified forever. There's probably still people scared to fly on planes thanks to the scaremongering over 9/11.
I used to like Maddox quite a bit, that's how I ended up watching the biggest problem in the universe back in the day. Once that podcast ended I even stuck with Maddox (big mistake) for a while, and thought the good times were over until I realized Dick's new show was actually pretty good.
I don't know why, but a lot of those old edgelords decided to become woke, and totally destroyed themselves in the process. Maybe it's a consequence of being in SoCal. Just a bunch of groupthink.

tbf, that's a direct consequence of the fact that tenants have overwhelming power under the law. Most places (and California and NYC I almost guarantee are at the head of the pack in this regard) give tenants so many powers over their landlord that you could just stop paying the rent and start filling the place with garbage and dealing drugs out of it and it'll take a full year to get rid of that tenant. Meanwhile you're on the hook for all the bills that rent is supposed to pay.
You won't find the most important sort of deep existential joy that'll sustain you on the Internet. There are multiple generations of people trying and failing, and it's tearing the world apart. Not saying you can't find things to like on the Internet, but it's spice, not the meal.
It's important and entirely possible to see how imperfect the world is but to also see how important it is to fight for what's important anyway. I see both on Fediverse, the blackpill and the whitepill.
