Nothing republicans hate more than (checks notes) a conventionally attractive white, blonde girl in a traditional relationship with a conventionally masculine man.
And they send the policies out to other western powers to copy, "oh it must be good, it's what the world's sole superpower does!"
When I went to college, I shared a 2 bedroom place with my brother, and we paid 350/mo. It wasn't a great building, but it was perfectly ok and in a decent enough part of town. You couldn't get that place for twice the place now. In fact, I bet you couldn't get a similar place for 4 times as much.
Half the problem is definitely too much money sloshing around the system thanks to central banks and various government programs that let people borrow way too much money at way too low rates.
In addition, however, it's pretty tough not to go to any store and order from any restaurant and also realize that there's a lot more people around (and a lot different people around) than back then.
I don't blame the people who took advantage of our policies, it's ultimately the fault of our politicians and the bureaucrats that we're in this situation.

Wait... Do some people think saying "no bot" or using a hashtag will stop a malicious bot?
Because that's ridiculous and silly. Wishful thinking at best.

Maybe the kids should be forced to take cultural sensitivity training for refusing to respect his culture?
Is it really smart to take advice on mental health from an establishment that has categorically failed on youth mental health?
I always wonder if these same people who think you should use your real name online also wear their drivers license as a T-shirt so everyone everywhere they go can see who they are.
Seems like walking around in a bad neighborhood screaming "OH WOW MY WALLET IS SO FULL OF MONEY RIGHT NOW!"

Imagine being the guy who wrote that "on hold" music virtually every voicemail system in the world. Probably doing very well for himself.

? (does this guy think that anyone who is wary of people saying you just need to do X for a better future is a bot?)
To be fair, the world is not simple and a lot of people seem to think that it is.
You have some people out there that want to triple the national debt buying a bunch of stuff, and they use beautiful words about protecting the future for our children, but spending all that money is selling your kids into slavery -- you can't really be protecting the future for your kids while spending their money.
It's hard. There is no perfect answer, and anyone who tells you that they have a perfect answer is lying to you. There's a price, and sometimes that price is in blood rather than money -- if some people got exactly what they asked for today, there'd be coffins lining the streets.
At the end of the day, the final arbiter of Truth is no human being, but reality itself. Build a fictional world for yourself, and eventually the laws of physics will pull you back to Earth every time.

Mike Holmes reminds me of some tradesmen I worked with who could talk some shit but never seemed to show any sort of comprehensive knowledge.

But also there are countries where pretty much everyone got vaccinated and everyone got covid anyway.
By definition everyone that I work with got fully vaccinated(company fired anyone who refused including some management), and all of us have had covid, sometimes multiple times.

There's a big difference between trying to be true and trying to be right. You can "be" the latter while failing to be the former, and that's not good -- reality doesn't care that you won a debate if you're just objectively wrong about something.
It's tough to be humble though, because you have to admit you were wrong when what you thought was right doesn't turn out to be true. Folks who work in hard science and engineering end up taking their licks at some point even if they're really good.

I'd be pretty good with a return to pre-ww1 size government, where most governments didn't even have an income tax.
When one of every two dollars spent is spent by the government and the biggest companies on earth are specifically ones that manage to get their foot in that door, it seems clear to me we're at a point where there's too much government.
It isn't like these mass increases in government spending have corresponded to an increase in the wealth of the people. Far from it.
