@TinyFern @Crux_Invictus @martianvenator Oh, and I may as well post a relevant meme. Perhaps one of my favorites of all time:

Here's the thing, the left cannot stop themselves from conjuring their boogyman.

For all the hand wringing, Trump is not their boogyman.

If Trump's administration is effective enough, he may have put the boogyman back in the box for a while. If not, and if his administration is just some executive orders with the usual feckless Congress, then the left will be back with more of the same, and they will push the pendulum even harder left.

Eventually it happens. Eventually they conjure their boogyman, and he will be everything they say Trump is and more.

So the meme is that. The meme is that people are ready for a Caesar to put an end to the insanity. If it is Baron, so be it.

But hard times create strong men, and the question isn't "if" but "who"

@LCCMV

Had to hear it myself. So, each gimmegrant deported by Trump that arrives in Mexico will get ~96 USD for free from the Mexican government in the form of a debit card for immediate use.

The woman explaining says "to use as they make their way to their communities of origin". I want to believe this means Mexico expects them to keep moving and GTFO too.

What a prosperous nation. Giving money for free to immigrants. We tried that and almost died. I hope Mexico has better luck with it.

Well, first of all, it's meme.

An interesting one to be sure, for a few reasons:

1. Belies a general weariness with mob rule, ..oops, I meant Democracyโ„ข

2. Similarly, it shows patience wearing thin for the status quo. Patience wearing thin for "bipartisanship" and the Uniparty. Patience wearing thin for decline.

People want to win. I think that is what the meme is about.

@IcyGrillz

Companies right now

what the hell was the moral of Rumpelstiltskin anyway

I'm completely blackpilled and I refuse to feel any level of excitement or optimism for Trump's new admin

I put a lot of blame on modern journalism for the current state of things

In addition to that, he's also pardoning 1600 Jan 6ers, and enacting anti-DEI policies.

These are good things of course, but I still have an uneasy feeling about it all. This just seems too good to be true.

@dangillmor@mastodon.social So pardoning your family and allies at the last second is okay, but doing it upfront is evil?

No mercy.

Burn them all.

lol

Hey, are you alright? That fall looked really bad.

... Trump? Border tsar? Musk doing a hitler salute? It's 2021, Trump isn't even in office anymore! C'mon, Bernie's AG is sentencing him today, let's watch CSPAN

Unfortunately, abuse of the extremely broad pardon powers granted to the President goes way back, like George Washington way back. Most likely, if the Constitution was written today, the President would have no pardon powers whatsoever.

@WhitestTemplar @Witch_Hunter_Siegfired @PraxisOfEvil @Tadg_macNuadat @MisterLister I don't care what *any* WN thought leader or podcaster says, I grew up in a area with notorious democrat party machines, and the fact that harris win states were almost perfect overlap with states with no voter ID is not a fucking coincidence, and no one is going to change my mind.

Also, the exact same shit where the count stopped for three hours then suddenly reversed happened in Minnesota (Walz' home state) as happened in the blue wall when biden won and that wasn't a fucking coincidence either. I know what these people are like.

So..

Patriots were in charge? And we just had to trust the plan?
