Putin already controls Eastern Ukraine and he is never going to release it. So agreeing to "give" him that land really just recognizes the reality of the facts on the ground.

its amazing how people supposedly have to take history in college but so many college grads don't understand that for about 2,000 years of human history the only people who are not allowed to be armed are... uh. slaves.
