Agreed on all counts. But nobody is THAT good anymore because the internet and decentralized social media has raised the bar so much that it's just incredibly hard to make something fake look real.
What I'd give the CIA a lot of credit for is their ability to stage "live events" which people will then talk about, and this gives them a way to somewhat shape narrative - but still people end up often just making fun of them.
