I generally always defer to Ron Paul (the elder) on matters of morality. So far everybody who has ever tried to shit-talk him has turned out to be a lowly worm.
That said, I think his son will be seen as out-of-touch for this. Particularly the reference of To Kill a Mockingbird, which is itself a fictional story which represents another person's opinion - and an opinion which is not so widely held anymore.
