I wrote a couple weeks ago about opportunity briefly inside one of my essays. It made me realize that one of the talking points of the right is incorrect.
Equality of outcome is evil, yes.
Equality of opportunity is impossible and stupid. We don't want that.
Opportunity is something that comes about serendipitously. Maybe you and your neighbor get together and both realize you can do something because you each have specific skills or resources to do a thing. You can't give someone else that opportunity because they don't have the same skills or resources to do a thing.
What we should be fighting for is *equality of process*. If those two neighbors go off to do something they shouldn't be turned down because they're not white enough or not black enough or not straight enough or not gay enough. You should be given the same shake to realize your opportunities as anyone else.
The left calls equality of process racism, because they're racists who think anyone who isn't a white straight male is inferior and incapable of achieving anything. Just people should scream from the rooftops about this evil state of affairs.
