I'm partial to lotide, personally. I'd like to see more folks using that federated link aggregator since it's easy to self-host

There's a lot less to it than lemmy as far as I can tell, it's just a basic activitypub federated link aggregator. You can host communities and people on other instances can subscribe to your instances. One really nice thing is you can also subscribe to communities using ActivityPub compatible clients like Mastodon, Pleroma, or Soapbox. Definitely in its early days, but I like it.

I have an instance set up at https://lotide.fbxl.net so you can see what it looks like.

I've got custom CSS on my instance, but it's straight html and css to the extent that if you can get past the https, you can open a lotide site on ncsa mosaic, and it just gracefully degrades all the stuff that browser can't do. Not a lot of modern software that does that.
