@LoriQuaid The fact that there were no known side-effects to using marijuana was used as evidence that it should be legalized, but since people who showed up in an ER would be arrested most people wouldn't, and research of cannabis was banned.
I think the next decade will show the reasons why we need to be careful of cannabis (probably not banning it again, but just being careful of it) which might be better in the long run.
