@wjmaggos people aren't responsible for what other people do. If all you had to do was say some words to be responsible for crimes other people commit then every rapper would be in jail forever, crucified by the legal system for inciting kids to live the gang life it glorifies.

People aren't responsible for things that they didn't do. He didn't March on the capital, he didn't join the rioters in entering the capital building, he didn't do any of that. We have a word for punishing someone for something they chose not to do as if they did it: Injustice.

As for whether that makes Trump weak? Well, maybe it does. There are a lot of things he didn't do that disappointed people. He didn't pardon Snowden or Assange. He didn't balance the budget. He pushed for lax monetary policy while candidate Trump pushed for strict monetary policy. He was nowhere near tough enough during the months of violent riots across America.

I feel like the left is angry with Trump for not playing the role they crafted for him. They thought he was going to be an authoritarian strongman, and instead they got a 90s democrat. They ended up having to play a bizarre game where they created a strawman puppet they jerked around with their right hand while they acted offended with another puppet in their right.

@wjmaggos I agree, I refer to the establishment and those who are pawns or puppets of the establishment.

There is a way to believe we still need change without believing the psychopathic garbage that has been pushed by the establishment. Our world has never been perfect and can be better, of course. The problem is that right now the most powerful people and organizations on earth have coopted change so they can achieve their ends instead of an organic movement searching for the best ends, and it's going to kill the left if they can't figure out how to stop that massive, powerful, well-funded, highly motivated faction from taking over. It'll be used up and tossed away like a used tissue much like the religious right was.
