The mayor of Calgary called a climate emergency and said Alberta would need to transition their economy away from fossil fuels because there'd be no way to run an economy extracting fossil fuels in 20 years.
This is because she's stupid. The next 2 years will fully vindicate everyone who has been saying that you can't just "transition away from fossil fuels" without causing mass suffering of the poorest people in society.
