Pick a politician. Our great Fuhrer Trudeau has advocated for both and actively implemented policies that are intended to promote both.
That would make sense to me, more than any of the stated aims.
I've said before, I'm not opposed to using less carbon. We have to because eventually we run out of easy places to get it and we're more reliant on it than people think for basic stuff like feeding ourselves. I'm not opposed to using nitrogen more intelligently. I used to live on Lake Winnipeg, and it had huge algae blooms every year from all the farm runoff.
The thing is, you can't just pull the plug, we need these things to live. It's like just saying "Everyone! Breathe less air! You're bad people!"
If we actually acted property to try to solve these problems, I'd expect the poor and working class could be empowered by inexpensive food and energy, but it seems like they're specifically ignoring solutions that could work...
