worrying about the integrity of elections doesn't make you a threat to democracy unless we define democracy as something like the exam in naruto where everyone is fighting to cheat without getting caught.

Hate to say it, even as a tech guy myself (I run most of the services I use ffs) sometimes it seem most sensible to just stick with low tech. Gadgets and gizmos seem to have caused more problems than they've solved.
With respect to stolen elections, it's immaterial either way, and it'd be easier if everyone could just get that. We have a name for people who get elected president through cheating: "The President". At worst, they'll get fined a slap on the wrist by the election commission.
Thankfully, the past 6 years has been an eye opener for a lot of people. We used to trust institutions, now we know we shouldn't and people are building their own decentralized systems, processes, and the like. That's a good thing no matter who ends up in charge.
