I was watching a video about the Marxist opposition to families today, and it made me realize how insulated the whole ideology is. It's an ideology by northern europeans for northern europeans.
The hate for the nuclear family in particular betrays the truth. It isn't the norm in most of the world. Not in Africa, not in Asia, not in South America, not in a chunk of Europe. Relatively speaking, the northern european conception of the nuclear family is a relatively tiny fraction of the world.
Given that there's a lot of different family structures in the world besides the northern european nuclear family, it would be positive to look at those societies and see what actual conditions end up developing. While the nuclear family isn't perfect, it sure looks like one of the better options imo.
