Elizabeth held a special place in many people's hearts, but the same can't be said about Charles.
One thing that would be nice about a Canadian Republic is that presumably we'd vote separately for the members of parliament and the head of the government. I'm sure a lot of Liberal and NDP MPs would prefer not having a vote for them tied to keeping Trudeau or Singh in power.
