I would like to be able to do that on a personal level. Just mute all of one while still letting through people I like.
There should be scripting that allows you to do that and more.
For instance, what I said could be implemented as:
deny instance==<stupid assholes>
allow user in follows
allow user==<okay person 1>
allow user==<okay person 2>
Etc...A bit like XMPP’s deprecated privacy lists AFAICS
