They don't hold your private keys even with did:plc. And did:web is also possible.

Hard disagree. I think freedom should be individual not collective. That doesn't mean arguing with strangers or being fed content by algorithms. And it doesn't mean that community is impossible either. It just means being in control of your own posting.

Let me correct that. It should be individual *and* collective. Collectives should be autonomous with regard to larger collectives and individuals should be autonomous with regard to collectives.
Nostr seems pretty good. It just needs better subjective moderation tools. Silverpill may end up making the fediverse like Nostr for the people who use his FEPs.
I agree that community is good, but that community should still have sovereign identity. I don't really understand how those two things are supposed to be in conflict.
