lol it's now illegal to have self custody crypto wallets in the EU

finbold.com/anonymous-crypto-wallets-now-illegal-in-the-eu/

@graf fellas, $BTC hit too high

@graf EVERY retard who says the eu is great and respect human rights is larping at this point

@graf Point for Monero and whatever makes it more difficult for them to track you down

@graf impossible to enforce, you could just have a piece of paper with the private key written down, they gonna ban paper next? lol

@WoodenDoorInspector @graf No, it means exchanges will not accept money from such wallets. They will make it impossible for EU residents to convert the crypto into fiat or vice versa

Replaceable batteries or omnipresent terrorist thought police, I'm ok with replacing my phone every 5 years.

@theorytoe @graf Noooooooo but what about muh apple fines and USB-C? Clearly they are the good guys!

@Kerosene @graf those came in way too late and the fines are basically barely a dent in the wallet for apple

like its funny because basically every government doesnt fine apple enough money for them to actually make a legitament change for the better

@Kerosene they claim its to prevent money laundering and etc financial crimes but its not. it's so they can track you

Fucken hell: 'On that note, any cash payment above €10,000 will become illegal, while also anonymous cash payments above €3,000.' 🀬

@graf great

@graf I'll bet they saw the conscription-avoiding Ukrainians exchanging money with Monero and decided to nip that in the bud in case they'll need similar policies in the future

@graf JUDEN

@CSB Polexit ?

@graf Oy vey goyim no crypto for you ✑️

@graf @Kerosene kikes and soy filled bureaucrats consider a financial crime that anyone not sucking Israel, America an Libtardism dick being able to buy a meal

@graf >me and my bro after the feds find a 120kb text file on our computers (monero keys)

@graf And how exactly will they enforce this? All this will do will encourage Americans and Russians to start producing Monero clones for Europeans clients

@SuperSnekFriend @graf
>And how exactly will they enforce this?
Very easily, exchanges and banks will do the all dirty work (they already do)

@theorytoe

It is no longer a matter IF you break the law, but HOW MANY laws you break every week.

Thought for the Day; Laws that just about everyone agree is a good idea (murder, rape, theft,..), are not needed.
All other laws exist because just to suppress and control us.

@graf @sj_zero

@theorytoe

Idea; A personal AI that will follow you everywhere and count how many laws you break, congratulate you one leveling up and shower you with badges and achievements.

@graf @sj_zero

@Grumblesock @graf And a reminder that 3000 euros will be 1 meal in 3 years. And they never rise the limit.

@graf @Kerosene
>Point for Monero and whatever makes it more difficult
>it's so they can track you

Didn't Europol hire an ex-maintainer of Monero like a year ago? A crypto ban in EU was in the works for a few years now.

@Grumblesock @graf Very similar rules in place in the US already, almost identical amounts

@rein @graf the article just says payments with self custody wallets, which is impossible to stop. sure the exchanges might be forced to freeze funds coming in from an anon wallet but i doubt this wont be challenged, technically its not possible to really stop any payments this way, just hold/freeze at an exchange

@WoodenDoorInspector @rein @graf The exchanges have always been the weak point of crypto. That's where they'll control things going forward.

@graf I am biased on crypto after getting fucked over by Binance, fuck all the exchanges.

@Kerosene @theorytoe @graf but what about free HRT

@romin @SuperSnekFriend @graf yeah you won't be able to easily exchange it into Euros without them knowing.

@lichelordgodfrey @romin @SuperSnekFriend @graf I envision a lot of do nothing, no talent streamers to pop up and be very popular. ;D

@lichelordgodfrey @SuperSnekFriend @graf and with the know comes the draconian taxation, and if they don't like you they'll just expropriate everything

@romin @SuperSnekFriend @graf kinda already happens just with fiat.

"Oh, you don't like the 'migrants' raping and murdering people? Well, you haven't said something legally actionable yet, and you haven't committed a heckin' terrorism either, so we're taking your bank account away and putting you on a blacklist!"

Though, you can at least (for now) still use physical currency.

@SuperSnekFriend @graf Everything except worshipping immigrants and immigrant crime is, from the perspective of EU bureaucrats, in-part or wholly problematic. Calling it a glorified slush fund for zero-growth economies is objectively a compliment.

@graf Load the Europe FUD.

Not really a new thing lol.

@eee @graf oy veyyyyyyyy

@PunishedD @graf @rein @WoodenDoorInspector

Exchanges are not the weak point of crypto. The weak point of crypto is that nobody really wants the fucking crypto. Everybody wants the nice and shiny fiat money they get when they sell the stupid crypto, presumably after some valuation. Crypto itself is worthless, always been, purely valued over the promise that it can be turned into more of the currency that really matters after a certain time.

@graf theres no greater cuck than an EU resident

@graf

Of course. It is the socialist republic of EU no one is surprised!

I've said this many times and I'll say it again. The moment crypto becomes useful for the average man, it will be regulated to death or made illegal.

States tolerate no competition since they are at their core, just another maffia backed by threat of violence.
