This franchise's success makes me think about how there's actually "stuck culture" but for millennials. Zoomer and alpher girls look back wistfully thinking they would have been a hot scene/emo/goth girl if they were in the graduating class of 2006

It's really something, watching zoomerettes sit there and dig up the cringe stuff we had as dumb kids - except unlike millennial girls, they're apparently immune to the charms of Gerard Way and that trannyfaced guy from AFI

Also: It's a tad depressing to see that the most cute, fun, engaging artwork showing a traditional loving man/woman couple is....from fetish porn again.

(okay technically it's from an indie game but it's absolute femcoomer fuel, and they love it.)

On one hand, it's cute watching a chick excitedly unbox an ipod as "vintage" and eagerly load up your HS GF's "RAWR!!! Means 'I love you!' in dinosaur!" date night playlist

On the other hand it's kind of sad that they too are stuck wading through the cultural ashes of a demographic that came before them

@TeaTootler yeah, but "incest" is almost code for "I want someone who truly, deeply loves me that I can trust to love and protect me for good, and it's impossible for a man to feel that way about me unless he's spent YEARS getting to know and adore me"

It's like how men like "wolf girls" - we want someone who's adoring, cute, bubbly, easily pleased, absolutely loyal, content, and cute....and it's easier to imagine a woman who's got those features coded into her DNA than to imagine one IRL who just is that way as a default.

Sad stuff, when you really process the hows and whys of everything.

@suquili @TeaTootler Yep, and since most kids today don't even HAVE siblings, it's much easier for them to imagine a "sexy sibling". For a girl who never had a brother, the idea of a tall, adoring, sexy guy who is a complete dickhead to every woman BUT her is a heartwarming fetish. She just wants to feel secure and beloved, to the point she doesn't have to worry about him straying at all.

It's sad, really, how there's a type of girl who just wants to be happy, and how tough it is for her to see a pathway to that.

@DemonSixOne Apparently that's why they miss it, they see that old hot topic stuff as a kind of white suburban subculture that isn't allowed to exist today

@WashedOutGundamPilot @suquili @TeaTootler I can tell you firsthand as a man with sisters that there is ZERO desire for any sort of sexual relationship with your siblings. It is easy to think that you like the idea of incest when you are seeing things from the third person at a girl who is NOT YOUR SISTER. Anyone who says otherwise either does not have a sibling of the opposite sex or is deranged.
