I was really fed up with test papers so I got me 15 bucks pH meter from Amazon. It just came. Wonder if it actually works lol

No reason to think it won't, but you'd want a 7 buffer and a 10 buffer to do a 2-point calibration to prove it's functionality.

@ThatCrazyDude Explain pleae, are you a handyman in Italia or just a homeowner that buys a bunch of chineseum tools? Honestly interested.

@sj_zero there's supposed to be 3 pouches with some sort of stuff to make calibration solutions in the box. Haven't opened it yet because I'm cleaning the chainsaw an my hands are beyond filthy, but I'm sure it's all in there ;)

Yeah, you mix the pouches with distilled water to make a buffer. It'll be a 4, 7, and 10 likely.

@NashRicky just a hobbits homeowner who likes to keep the yeast in the fermenter happy ;)

@ThatCrazyDude lol....that is good line. I been around long enough to hear most and neer heard that one, good stuff

that kind works okay if you take care of it, keep water out of the electronicy parts were the battery is, accept it will stop working at some unknown point in the near future, fairly accurate like within 0.2-0.4 pH, if it matters it’s good to have two on hand to check them against each other on each sampling, or use a litmus strip to check it
the $60-$100 test pens are dead on balls accurate if you calibrate them regularly and follow good lab practices of not cross contaminating or diluting the test solutions

@Daisy yeah.... I'm not spending more than 50 bucks on controlling the pH of fermenting sugar water. Let's be realistic here 🤣
