In the last Canadian election, I said our choice was between the NDP (Socialists) the red NDP (liberal party acting like socialists) and the blue NDP (conservative party socialists who tapped the brakes ever so slightly) and so of course the ruling party won since people didn't want to get out and vote for socialism.

I imagine Britons thinking the same about their Conservatives, who ultimately ruled just like the socialist parties would have while just saying different things. Even if you don't like labor, you vote for them just to force the conservatives to have to change if they want power again.

Presently, Canada's conservatives are on track to a landslide victory, because they gave up blue socialism and started actually acting somewhat conservative, as if they're in opposition to Trudeau's liberals rather than just in mild disagreement with them.

Labour only got 34% of the vote, on about a 60% turnout. It was more that people didn’t vote for the Conservatives than that they did vote for Labour.

Same difference. Either voting for Halo (eg. playing xbox on election night) or voting for someone other than the conservatives. :P
