Eight-year ADHD backlog at NHS clinics revealed

"The BBC found one trust, Sheffield, has a waiting list of more than 6,000 people and assessed only three patients last year."

Jesus. I knew it was bad, but that's off the scale.

@DJDarren fucking hell! How on earth did they only manage 3 patients in a year?!?

Well we know the answer but still… shocking.

I feel lucky my autism one only took 4 years.

@inpc I was ridiculously lucky with my ADHD. Saw my GP in March '19, who wrote to me a few weeks later to say he was putting me forward for Right To Choose, got an assessment in Oct '19 and have been medicated ever since. Six months later and I'd have landed in Covid territory and might still be waiting.

@DJDarren eek, glad it’s worked out for you.

How do you feel about the effects of long term medication?

@inpc @DJDarren I'd like to know too. Also, what medication he is on.
