I picked some basil

@ThatCrazyDude Isn't it supposed to have dark leaves or is it a different kind? ðŸĪ”

@commandlinekid blended up some pesto last week myself. I think it was 5 jars. It's incredible how much 6 damn plants can produce, isn't it

@m0xee there's plenty of varieties and they range from light green, almost yellow, to dark brown.
Those particular ones look exactly as they should ;)

@commandlinekid well, you kinda have to keep pruning because if you let them grow too much and they manage to bloom, they'll just drop dead.

@ThatCrazyDude True — different kinds are more common in different parts of the world, the one we have here is purple-ish even ðŸĪŠ

@m0xee in general, the darker the leaves the less direct sunlight they need

@ThatCrazyDude @commandlinekid

I didn't know that. :(

I have no idea what my garden is supposed to be doing.

@tj @commandlinekid well, now you know. Basil is one of those plants that dies right after it blooms and gets pollinated. Almost as if it's goal in life was propagation and not making leaves for people to eat 😂

@ThatCrazyDude @m0xee Probably because they have more chlorophyll.

@commandlinekid @tj they look like this. But when you get to that point it's already too late. You need to prune the plant when they're waaay smaller

@ThatCrazyDude @commandlinekid

Yeah, they are all doomed.
