This guy in particular though seems very much about the decentralized web, but if you want to talk about it you can only use centralized proprietary platforms. He can't even take his own message seriously during the introduction.
@sun@shitposter.world I like not having blockchains, blockchain "technology" is a meme looking for a problem it can (expensively) solve. But I generally like the web to be a bit more static. Rather than looking for ways to make code more trustworthy, I'd rather just not have random code running at all. The irony is that I'm using #MissKey as my #Fediverse client :^)
@tyil it's solving the problem of financial trust. I don't need to trust anyone with crypto, it's there, nobody can take it away from me.
If I have too much money in a bank and the bank goes under, I'm fucked.
