Tonight I was able to power the amiga for the first time. I had to get a new third party power supply which took a bit to arrive. Version 1.2 kickstarter rom.

I became aware of the fact that the battery on the amiga trapdoor memory expansions fail, and so I removed the EM shielding and sure enough, the battery was looking pretty crusty. I cut it away.

I don't have any floppy disks of any kind, let alone any amiga floppy disks, so I had to flash the Gotek floppy disk emulator with the FlashFloppy firmware. I took the top cover off to get a good view but it seems you don't need to do that to flash the unit.

Not sure if I'll get a chance to install the floppy drive and get a workbench disk running tonight or even this weekend, but if I do I'll keep everyone posted.

Plans right now are replacing all the caps since it's cheap insurance, printing a new trapdoor cover because it didn't come with one, I've got the raspberry pi zero hdmi mod board coming in, but I'd like to look at one of those Raspberry pi cpu replacement boards that clip onto the sidecar.

Not sure in the end if I'll hang onto it forever or if I'll get it running, play with it a while, and find a new home for it, but it's a really neat little toy to play with right now regardless.
