@PNS pointed out to me some time ago how these follow lists and hellthreads help build community on the darkfedi. I think he's right. So I'm trying to remember everyone and enable people to connect. Better to light a candle than curse the darkness, in this case the disconnection of everything.
I am probably gonna still be boring while I'm hacking on the Apotheosis of FSE, but it is still flattering nonetheless.
Sounds promising. I know how much effort hacking can take, which is why I moved on to sawing. Specifically, trying to fit these limbs, head, and torso into two crappy Walmart suitcases. I love livin' in the city

Lots of little dips and gullies on the moors, you donโt even have to do any digging.
You do need a 4x4 for easy transport, though.
And if you're lucky, you have pigs. They make the whole process a lot easier.

At @Jennypennymoon78 's house. Day off. Payday. Pic is my apt, tho.
I should respond to this. I enjoy a lot of engagement on shit I toot. But the Friday follow list I look forward to. Very much. The cachet is intangible.

What the fuck. There's a Mexican restaurant a while away from me that had a dead prostitute in the walls in the 70s.
I'm pretty sure most of the places I went to in Japan could be considered haunted, but to be fair they had a lot of graves.
George, on the other hand...

Basically if your uncle raped you and you got ice cream afterwards, you end up being a Mac user.
$120
I wanted to start flipping their stupid tables over
Fucking clone gear.
Remember when they sold keyboards for $170 back in the 1980s?
Good times, good times.
At least you could swap hardware, hack on it etc. Of course that was a Woz project and the last thing they ever did that I liked using.
Same, actually. I owned a bunch of AIIs, used a lot of older machines and mainframes, then finally got a Mac and hated it, so I bought a PC clone and ran a board off of it.
I learned more on that thing than I ever would have on anything else. I still miss using DOS sometimes. I remember one Christmas putting a SoundBlaster 16 in it
That was like entering a new world of gaming immersion for me. We used to trade those cards like cash. I think I swapped an eighth of quality weed for my first.
Like holy hell what is this thing.
Yeah I remember spending months talking my parents into a new computer so we could get one that would run cdrom with any decency. Came with internet too so I think that was 95' ish.
I used to watch mtv beach house while setting it up ha
> At least you could swap hardware, hack on it
Woz was still designing the hardware back then.
This is probably why the these documentaries are less interesting to you than to me; I wasn't there, so it's fascinating.
we used have a joint lake that over in the industrial park, you had to know where it was, but this dude had a whole warehouse full of refurbished gear. Laptops, servers, you name it. Total Unix nerd too, dude was like short fat, and had 80s rocker hair.
Oddly there was this Vietnamese deli thing in front of it so you could get a burner laptop and a sub sandwich in one trip.
Tho, I was the kid who once ran up a massive bill prank calling countries around the world so I prob would have found a way to get in trouble regardless.
Being in a kid in the midwest, you used what you had availible bro.
Walkman, nachos, whistle thing and cassete recorder for the payphone, good times.
Have to be wasted to be brave enough.
> i didn't know woz and never spoke to crunch directly but these characters paved the roads.
Yeah, it was just surreal. You don't really think of those three guys having ever been in the same room: https://archive.org/details/hackerswizardsoftheelectronicage .
> the bbs doc is great. there's another 8parter on yt with more modern enthusiasts you may enjoy. steal it.
I don't know the name of it so I don't know how to steal it. But, you know, Tom Jennings is on this internet here.
> my cursed handle was a play on his.
> now im just an old unix (box of tools) guy waiting for my card to be punched.

Lmfao, was she strolling around with a broken shopping cart?
People ask me like "how you not fat?"
Idk just how I eat man
Idk how sluggish I get imma eat that meatloaf until I die. Other than that yeah....sluggish then pass out. Anytime I eat too much at once I pass the hell out so I try to eat healthy green stuff.
> so I try to eat healthy green stuff.
I think, like, you know what you're supposed to eat, and then enough exertion will crank up the volume, your body will tell you what you're supposed to be putting in it, otherwise we'd be dead. (I rarely drank plain water until I started boxing, then I couldn't get enough of the stuff.) So, you know, don't try to push yourself to eat stuff that you don't really want; a lot of people don't like kale, but stewed the stuff down, a little lemon juice, maybe some sesame seeds, maybe a piece of bacon, I lose my shit. Same thing with, like, for whatever reason, I can't get enough coconut, cocoa powder. I have a 2lb. bag of unsweetened cocoa powder, most people can't stand it unsweetened but the stuff just gets ahold of me; I figure I must have a deficit of magnesium or selenium, something like that. Beets, I can eat a pound of beets, any day of the week. Anyway, I'm getting side-tracked, just like, you gotta eat the stuff that sounds good to you. Meat, like, in the 70s, the health books said you should be eating 2-3 servings of red meat per day, then they started saying you can't eat any of it, and those regulations are driven by the farm lobby rather than what you're actually supposed to be eating.
Do you have a whole foods near you? I recommend that joint. I get all my stuff there because while not all healthy in terms of caloric intake it's available.
I mean the food pyramid was set by them.
It's why grains and bread was the largest recommended serving
Like just eat good stuff. It easy. Like asparagus and fish. Idk shit like that
