@Hyolobrika I disagree. Android should be withdrawn from the consumer market, it's fucking garbage.
@thatbrickster Good point, I wish Linux was more secure then. Including mobile Linux.
@thatbrickster I actually would love a portable device that has an actual keyboard.

@Hyolobrika
Does it not?🤔
https://developer.android.com/reference/android/content/pm/PackageManager
There is even a "pm" command for it, I think…
@thatbrickster Especially if you could also put it to your ear and make calls with it.
@Hyolobrika Linux without a Google/Android userspace needs to run on devices first, then we can worry about virtualising apps so they don't step over the line. Qubes or SeL4 on mobile sounds cool but devices needing more RAM options is more pressing.
@Hyolobrika I'm sure MNT could fill that niche, if baseband wasn't too much of a hassle. There's the F(x)tec Pro1 X and PinePhone Pro (with keyboard shell) as existing examples.
@Hyolobrika it has f-droid, good enough
@Hyolobrika @thatbrickster android uses linux too so you're comparing nearly the same level of security. desktop linux has sandboxing too; it's cumbersome but enterprise and high-security setups wrangle it
@thatbrickster @Hyolobrika they downgraded their keyboards :v
@thatbrickster @Hyolobrika iirc they didnt skimp on materials but they changed the layout to an inferior one. the 1u + 1,5u uniform keys were a feature, and i have the split space bar assigned to ctrl, alt, altgr, and space, but in the new models it's three-way split instead
@Hyolobrika It does, it's called termux.
