what if I upgraded a server from debian buster, to ubuntu 24.04

@ivesen it would break, hard

@waltercool @ivesen ngl flatpaks solved this. I could use debian but pop os has tweaks that just make it a lot easier for epic gamurs like me

Running Debian sid on an arm Chromebook and this hits hard. Doesn't even have plasma 6

@sj_zero @ivesen @waltercool just compile like a white man.

"do you even lfs bro?"

(I actually did Linux from scratch once, don't remember much about it now)

@teto @ivesen I still prefer Kubuntu über alles (for workstation desktop).

Good thing of PopOS is being Ubuntu based. Ubuntu distros are pretty good in terms of security and performance tradeoff, and not outdated as Debian

@sj_zero @ivesen @waltercool I have it started on a pi.

im so add tho i keep forgetting about it

@sj_zero @ivesen "Hello! I am a Debian user... I am interested in the latest KDE Plasma 6 "

"Either wait for the release of Debian 13 next year or switch to another reliable distribution like..."

@sj_zero @ins0mniak @ivesen @waltercool lfs is often a fever dream but lots of fun.

why do I have 4 libc's ? Debian I guess

@waltercool @ivesen if it werent for flatpaks pop os would be more outdated than debian, theyre still on 22.04

@waltercool @ivesen CORRECTION THEY STILL UPDATE IMPORTANT SHIT LIKE THE KERNEL AND DRIVERS, PIPEWIRE, ETC. I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT

@ivesen @waltercool SO YEAH pop os 22.04 HAS A 6.9 KERNEL

@teto @ivesen That's not too bad. Latest stable kernels are buggy sometimes
