Lebanon is a much different country than I thought it was, to be honest. Before any of this happened I learned about a major accident at a port in Lebanon, and I had no idea that it was a multi-ethnic parliamentary democracy where ethnic balance of power is codified into the constitution. Quite different than I'd been led to believe exists in the region.
