Sometimes I wonder why men get married.
It's really a risk

our traditions and culture clash with the ruling class' traditions and culture
Thing is, it's because men have to take risks. That's what it means to be a man. You have a greater chance of striking it rich, and a much greater risk of committing suicide or dying in the gutter broke.
We are the ones who headed out to new continents and braved to the first cold Winters in the New World(other than the whole civilization that was there first but that's not my point). We are the first ones to sign up for the military when there is a just War. And unfortunately, in the modern day we have to be the ones to take the risk involved with creating a life, because you can see the world agrees men take risks, and women are protected. Perhaps it's a biological impulse.
It's ironic when you think about it, both male chauvinists and feminists agree: women ought to be protected from harm. It's no riddle then, why in the absence of an external threat, the societies have become deeply bureaucratic and deeply entrenched in eliminating risk in general but in particular for women.
Here's the thing: the risk averse nature of our society is ultimately something resulting in a mass human depopulation globally. Forget men -- half of women never have kids at all by 30. The big question at this moment is whether a piece of you makes it to the future. Frankly, I appreciate all my fedi frens and I want all of you to be in the future, so it's a risk I hope you all take before you're erased from history.
