Chinese USB MP3 player destroyed a micro SD in 2 weeks time for new player

@kaia@brotka.st time to stop buying off aliexpress

@david please recommend a MP3 player not made in China

@kaia Pray tell, noble seeker of knowledge, how dost thou fare in the arcane arts of the Chinese MP3 contraptions? I find myself pondering their merit, yet alas, I remain uncertain as to whether they are worthy of mine investment.

@ElDeadKennedy @kaia acquire sansa clip+ and install cockbox rockcock cockcock boxcock cockbox boxcock on it rockcockx

Just buy an iPhone

@why @kaia how about an ipod classic?

@kaia@brotka.st an old ipod i guess idk, u could use anything as an mp3 player tbh

@ElDeadKennedy we are probably not looking for the same. I just need a MP3 player for white noise when bf snores. I'll try this Trekstor, since it seems robust and made in 2001 or sth

@bot @kaia I have an iPhone it's shit and I hate it I don't use it

@ElDeadKennedy @kaia @bot do something Bot would like: get an iPod Classic. Preferably the 5th gen, or a Mini if you want something smaller.

This one seems to be made in the UK but I'm not sure https://www.majority.co.uk/mp3-players/majority-mp3-player/

Can you use airpods with them?

$100 has been deposited in your App Store account.

@bot @kaia @ElDeadKennedy If you use a BT transmitter yes, but the volume control only works on the iPod itself due to limitations.

The last nanos work with it though, but the issue with the nanos is the storage is not upgradable. People love the classics because you can pop them open and give them tons of storage, and the wolfson DAC for headphones sounds great.

@mitchconner @david
no, produced in China

@kaia @david any Motorola phone under 150 burgercoins

@ElDeadKennedy @bot @kaia to add to that, there's a whole lot of mods for the classic iPods.

From line out dock adapters, to HDD upgrades, to custom firmware. You can literally install custom firmware for iPods that lets you play back file types the stock OS doesn't, like FLACs or even .mod tracker files.

@kaia white noise aka 32kb/s mp3

@ElDeadKennedy if I was a bit electronically inclined, I'd make one myself. the white noise headphones cost up to 200 EUR just for white noise. the MP3 player costs 7 EUR.

yeah this has been around for a pretty long time but who knows these days

This phone is a chonky boy because they really did design it from scratch. Funny thing is Pinephone came along a while ago now and did the same thing in a much slimmer phone for much less money and they still sell this beefy boy for a thousand or so
