This Wired article is a good example of how writing an article of a given topic becomes little more than turning it into the political mouth piece for the author: pigeonholing and ripping on what he doesn't like and promoting what he does, by a process of cherry picking the examples to make his point.
Of course, the publication Wired is a bastardization of its former, iconic 1990s self, now chock full of political bias that's dictated from the New York Condé Nast newsroom.

The idea that simcity, in which you are the all-powerful immortal god-king of your region, is libertarian is impressively nutty. You are literally the government and do basically have carte blanche to do whatever you like with no repercussions.
