i've seen it many times
group project gets announced, and before the good students can form a group with their friends, the teacher shows up to assign them to carry the idiots and the slackers who don't give a shit about grades and don't want to be there.
if it makes you feel any better, it sucked for us too. we wanted to screw off with our friends, not be stuck in a boring group with someone who gave a shit about school
