NEW: In what will surely be one of if not his final official act in office, President Biden has pre-emptively pardoned:

-General Mark Milley
-Tony Fauci
-The January 6th committee members and the staff who worked for them
-The police officers who testified before the Jan. 6 Committee

Biden says these pardons are not an acknowledgment of wrongdoing- but he’s clearly doing it because he’s concerned that Trump will use the justice dept against them.

“These are exceptional circumstances, and I cannot in good conscience do nothing."

"Even when individuals have done nothing wrong—and in fact have done the right thing—and will ultimately be exonerated, the mere fact of being investigated or prosecuted can irreparably damage reputations and finances."

Whether pre-emptive pardons hold up in court is another matter.

Huh that's strange, they didn't seem to feel that way about all the cases they brought against their political enemies.
