@threalist Huh? It let to Trump and his movement getting their own platforms, such as patriots.win (migration from Reddit when they were kicked off there.) Then Trump put up Truth Social. Next, Elon Musk figured out how powerful Twitter actually was, and bought it.

If Trump had been left on Twitter to shoot off his mouth, would he have got himself into even more trouble than he already was?
Elon Musk probably would not have bought Twitter, and therefore would not be Trump's #2 right now.
That censorship did not stop Trump but it did a lot of harm elsewhere.
When you try to "deplatform" people they will balkanize elsewhere. If you shut down one network they will open up the next.
