The good thing about AI saturating the internet, is that it will force people to never believe anything they see on the internet. Therefore any political content, sources of outrage, distractions, interference, etc cannot be believed. It will force us back into our immediate surroundings, as the only source of true reality, which is how people lived for thousands of years before the internet existed.
This is further enforced by VR. It paints the image that the internet is just a fantasy playground. It's not real.
It is most likely that tech will be use to verify sources and identify real humans posting, isn’t that the whole idea behid freakin’ WLD?
I think what we're seeing now is people going deeper into the fantasy. But it will hit a tipping point where the fantasy elements are so high, it will be undeniable to most people. I hope we will see through it. 😃 I have faith.
I fact checked this quote before reposting it 😂 https://founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/99-01-02-5737
Yall seem to forget 5 weeks ago when an AI spam bot convinced like a dozen people to follow it because its avatar was a picture of a girl.

The big assumption that you're making here is that people will put any effort into checking the validity of something that confirms their pre-held beliefs
Nothing forces them to do that. If they suffer any harm from not doing so, they will simply blame something else.
