If not a brain glitch, it's part of a propaganda campaign to defame DOGE employees, and we know that exists, see The Wall Street Journal hiring a Deep State operative who previously worked for USAID just a week ago just to attack DOGE employees. She's the one who dug up the dirt on that once and hopefully future one.
Paints them as oddballs smart enough to graduate from college much faster than the normal K-12 plus four years sequence, paints them as too young except for the twenty one year olds to fully be considered adults, not just socially but by lots of laws, like those pertaining to alcohol and guns, etc.
@Leadmaus @TrevorGoodchild I expect what replaces USAID to actually get cut, not only are the optics terrible, but there's simply no point to continuing its total ~fifty billion a year budget if the Deep State including Congressmen like Lindsey Graham can only skim off a few dollars from true humanitarian aid. Which is politically dangerous if you're not on Team Blue like the Clintons and Haiti (and your reputation can't really get much worse).
That's assuming there were no indefensible earmarks. But the executive has a Congressional remit for this money, true foreign aid more nimble than the State Department as of the 1950s to compete with the Soviets.
If Trump, bound by the law linked to below, has to spend that 90% that was going to globohomo and color revolutions, well, he'll spend on what it Officially should be spent on. Which will make a lot of Third World klepocrats happy, and require more employees but as you said, "the congress faggots" who are about to bankrupt the Federal government.
But for now the fiscal focus will be on the March continuing resolution with an expectation there will be yuge cuts, and not just to what was USAID. (Weasel words because it was "USAID" by a JFK executive order to fulfill a law passed earlier, it'll get renamed in due course.)
