I think the Fediverse is probably going to be one of the most resilient platforms against astroturfed AI content.
@graf @dcc Primarily because so much of the Fediverse is decentralized, fractured, and on independent servers that are widely based on trust. It's a lot more tight-knit and comprised of familiar communities joined together into little dispersed microcosms. It would be a whole lot more difficult to infiltrate and manipulate vs. sites like Facebook/Meta (which is already, from what I've been told, mostly AI garbage) or Reddit.

With Meta EEE we had one case where it made sense for Mastofedi and the "usual suspects" to unite against a common enemy and while it didn't work out so well at least many instances made the right decisions even without direct association with the other camp. I guess the bigger the problem the more chance to overcome differences (and I do see AI slop as a tangible problem in the near future)

@dagda @dcc @adiz We were blocked before they even federated. For a while poast bypassed the block by signing everything with a different domain (pls.zuck.dad). Stopped caring. Their implementation while better than minds seems very half baked and only serves to benefit them (most that arent blocked here have read only -- so threads federated to them but not inverse)
Not to mention, most of the big orgs or NGOs that would want to use AI slop the most don't want to touch the cool parts of the fediverse because their AIs will start being too cool for school.
