You meet every kind of autist on the fediverse. Making weird things a hill to die on and poorly explaining the position you think is self-evident is a personality type, I guess. These people aren't low IQ either, they're just weird...

@BowsacNoodle been thinking about this a lot lately...classical extreme autism (a term i just made up on the spot afaik) was characterized by language learning problems and a lack of a desire to socialize...im trying to understand what's that first step towards autism...I think I have it boiled down to the brain refusing on some topics to understand word-concept fallacies or etymological fallacies...

Yeah I don't mean actual autism either. It's internet autism, but amplified. Like an AI unable to understand or follow metaphors or anything outside their framework. It's always talking past your argument instead of to it.

@Frondeur Take him for a drink? Sometimes people need to hear from peers that they're a bit too tight. This has backfired on me before where the guy became a butthole towards me and a raging sycophant climber after this. I don't regret it though; it was what he needed to hear man to man.

I think he blocked me forever ago over my view on the jabs.

- You didn't mention or explain x
- I thought x was obvious without saying to anybody who's spent at least a couple years in this profession.

@BroDrillard Sometimes they look at it as a soft skill that you can talk about it as an "elevator talk" way. I'd rather just have competence than somebody who's a good talker and nothing else.
