Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

I suspect that nuclear weapons are entirely fake.

But if they are real, is "the right to bear arms" limited only to certain kinds of weapons? Or just to the those who are in alliance with us?

Or is the ability to defend ones-self built into how the world works?

@matthew

Alliance to us matters.

I can't believe anyone questions that.

Of course it matters. But also who you define as "us" matters. Is "us" We The People or a political ruling class?

In an analogy, it is like saying the neighbor who I think has stupid beliefs should not be allowed to own a rifle because he is not in alliance with me.

Of course he can own a rifle, even if I think his beliefs are stupid or wrong.

@matthew

Arming people that want to kill you is stupid.

I think you may want to have a chat with the American intelligence agencies and set them straight, as that's what they've been doing for the last 70 years or so.

Also, I am not saying that we should fund Iran having a nuclear weapon... but why did we give so much money to Israel for their defenses. They do not always have our best interests in mind.

Each individual and each nation has the ability to defend itself. If nuclear weapons are real, then even nations we disagree with will desire to acquire them and eventually will... just like guns.

To deny this, is to deny the self determination of others.

Be prepared to defend yourself. If Iran uses a nuclear weapon, then the US and Israel could completely wipe them out using the nukes we are supposed to have.

The "Iran is just a few [unit of time] from getting a nuclear weapon" is as terrible reasoning as the "weapons of mass destruction" that got us into Iraq.

There are no Republicans in this photo.

I see the GOP well represented in this photo.

It's a distinction between right wing Americans, and the right hand side of the Uniparty.

@threalist @matthew

Nope. All Democrats.

The GOP wants what the DNC wants but more slowly.

It's a distinction without a difference.
