The Senate’s version of Donald Trump’s tax cut bill will cost the bottom 20% of taxpayers an average of $560 a year while giving an average boost of $6,055 to those at the top end, per Bloomberg.

@sj_zero @unusual_whales Yeah, at best this is one of those rare-ish times when government handouts are counted in total income, vs. for example poverty statistics.
The bottom 20% is paying approximately 0% in income taxes, but at the time the "Budget Lab at Yale" made their calculations, assuming they're honest for which Yale has become particularly bad at, illegals probably being denied Medicaid etc. Which has been changed since then, so maybe it's work requirements for that program which I think went back into it??
